Obverse Design: The obverse typically depicts the head of Herakles (Hercules) facing right, wearing the lion skin headdress from the Nemean Lion he defeated.
Reverse Design: The reverse features a seated figure of Zeus Aëtophoros (eagle-bearer) enthroned to the left, holding an eagle in his outstretched right hand and a sceptre in his left. The inscription usually reads AΛEΞANΔPOY (Of Alexander).
